Everything You Need to Know About Watching the Super Bowl LIX
THE SUPER BOWL is must-see television for any sports fan, and seeing it live is the experience of a lifetime. As someone who has been lucky enough to go to a couple, I can attest that it’s an absolute blast whether your team is competing or not. Now add in the fact this year it will be happening in the party city of New Orleans, LA, and there’s no doubt that the 2025 event will be an absolute spectacle.
The stage has now been set for a thrilling game, with the seemingly unstoppable Philadelphia Eagles, led by Jalen Hurts and running phenomenon Saquon Barkley, going up against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs striving for the first three-peat in Super Bowl history. There’s no doubt that Super Bowl LIX on February 9 will be legendary, and you can still see it in person.
But if you’re watching it at home, now’s the time to make sure your set-up is dialled in with a streaming service. The last thing you want is for the boys to show up at your Super Bowl party just to find you don’t have the subscription you need.
Who Will Be Playing in the Super Bowl?
The Kansas City Chiefs (reigning NFL Champions) will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles (AFC Champions) in a rematch of 2023's Super Bowl LVII, which saw the Chiefs win 38-35 in overtime. The Chiefs have won the past two Super Bowls and are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in-a-row.
What Time Does the Super Bowl Game Start?
Super Bowl LIX kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Be sure to tune in a little early so you don't miss the early festivities, including the national anthem performed by Jazz star and Grammy award winner Jon Batiste, subject of Netflix documentary "American Symphony."
What Channel Is the Super Bowl on?
For anyone with cable, this year's Super Bowl will air on FOX (but not on the Fox Sports App).
How Can I Stream Super Bowl 2025?
If you’re stuck at home this year like myself, and one of the many households without a typical cable package, there are a few streaming services that you may want to consider as a sports fan. These subscriptions are not just great for the biggest event in football, but will also bring you months worth of other February and March sports like the other football (soccer), basketball, and MMA.
I have personally used both Hulu+ Live TV and Fubo TV to watch football. For anyone looking to keep the app number down on their smart TV, and already have Hulu, it’s a great option. Or if you’re a fan of NBC comedies and Hulu originals, there is more entertainment to be gained. Fubo is for the real sports lovers, like myself, who enjoy more than one kind of game. YouTube TV is another service that will also give you access to stream the Super B0wl.

Should I Get a New TV?
If you’ve been dragging your feet on getting a new big screen, and have an outdated model, there’s no better time than now for a sports fan to improve their set up. The prices on premium technology couldn’t be more reasonable these days.
65-Inch Class S5 4K Smart TV
I recently put a new 65" TCL in my basement entertainment center, and now I’ve got the kind of viewing experience that makes the crew want to make it the "regular spot." Not to mention, most models from the brand are frequently on discount on Amazon. Should come at no surprise that the TCL systems are top notch, with them being the official television partner of the NFL.
Who’s Performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show?
Kendrick Lamar will be taking one of the biggest stages in the world during halftime (watch out Drake). For anyone on the fence, getting to see one of the best rappers in the game should push them over. I got to see Kendrick at an after party during the last Super Bowl, and I can only imagine how huge they’re going to perform "Humble" midway through the competition.
Early intel suggests that SZA will be joining Lamar on stage, and no doubt they will be performing their hit "luther" together.
Where to Buy Tickets for Super Bowl LIX
EAGLES
Ticketmaster and StubHub (better deals) are the best options when purchasing Super Bowl tickets online, no matter your budget. That means whether you are looking to be close to the field or looking to party with the upper levels of the Caesars Superdome, these are the resale sites to trust with getting you your tickets on time.
For any live event you purchase tickets for online, it’s always important to read all of the details and instructions, to make sure you have all the information you need to get inside. Many tickets will come with verification tools (a good thing) that may have to be downloaded on your phone.
Now that the teams have been announced, and all the other hopefuls have fallen away, as well as their fans, new tickets have been released. Right now we are seeing tickets for around $4,800 for the upper levels, which still have an incredible view. This number is for sure going to creep up quickly this week.
If you are looking for that on-the-field feeling, you probably want to be in the 100 section. Those are going for a steal right now, starting at $7,500 and going up from there depending on the part of the field you’re close to. Sure, these aren’t small numbers we are talking about here, but if you have looked at previous Super Bowls, this isn’t bad for a chance to check something off the bucket list.
How Do I Get To The Super Bowl?
Unless you live in Louisiana, you're probably flying out. Now that the teams are solidified, airlines have added additional flights into Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), which is where you will want to fly into for the game. The airport is only half an hour from the stadium, so a ride share to your lodging shouldn't be too painful. And unless you have places you want to go outside of the big game, it's probably not worth renting a car.
Our recommendations for travel sites to use would be Kayak, Orbitz, Booking.com, and Expedia (or booking direct with an airline).
Where In New Orleans Should I Stay for the Super Bowl?
Caesars Superdome is in downtown New Orleans, just a few blocks away from the French Quarter, Central Business District, and Warehouse District. So any hotel in those areas is going to be ideal.
Streamlining your flight and lodging through one site can save money sometimes. So again, we'd recommend Kayak, Orbitz, Booking.com, and Expedia. But you can also try VRBO and Airbnb for renting people's places.
What Else Do I Need to Know About Going to the Super Bowl?
Don't begin to plan for your Super Bowl trip before skimming both the full NFL safety guidelines and if you're planning on driving to the stadium, you need to secure a parking pass (you can grab one on StubHub).
