Now that fans of the show have bingewatched the second season, Netflix recently announced that the series will be reinstalled for a third season. However, it's widely understood that season three of Top Boy will be the last from the Drake-produced franchise.

Here's everything you need to know about season three of Top Boy:

Is Top Boy season three confirmed?

Yes, so you can officially relax.

On March 31, Netflix revealed that its network will be renewing the series for a third and final season. The announcement, shared to Twitter, read: 'every TOP BOY has their time... and that time is coming.

'TOP BOY will return for the third and final season, filming starts this summer [sic].'

Kano shared the announcement to his own Instagram account and Micheal Ward, whose popular character in the series came to an unfortunate, surprising and heartbreaking end, replied: 'Good luck Mandem. [sic]'

What was the plot of Top Boy season two?

Season two saw Jamie rising to 'top boy' status, juggling rivalry and business while parenting his two younger brothers, Aaron (Hope Ikpoku Jnr.) and Stefan (Araloyin Oshunremi).

Jaq was often seen in stormy fights, seeking revenge and trying to help her sister Lauryn get out of a toxic domestic abuse situation, which ended in fatal consequences for her partner Curtis (Howard Charles).

Sully's riff with Jamie reached peak heights, following the former's conflict with Dushane, as well his life-threatening dilemma and difficulty trying to resolve his younger relative's mishaps.

As well as being embroiled in disputes, Dushane was seen in a strenuous situation as he conflictingly tried to future-proof his life while maintaining his 'top boy' title, and developing his relationship with Shelley (Little Simz).

All of these events occurred while the residents and local community of Summerhouse Estate tried to keep their homes afloat, battling against those who wanted to tear it down.

What is the season three Top Boy plot?

While we are yet to learn of how season three will unfold, it's likely that the aftermath of the heart-wrenching finale of the second instalment, which saw Sully and Jamie come to blows, will introduce the series.

There's also speculation that Jamie's brothers will seek revenge for their brother's death, and follow in his footsteps.

Dushane, Jaq and Sully's strife with outsiders is likely to escalate, as is the storyline with Lauryn's character, who was heavily pregnant in season two and is likely to be navigating motherhood under tough circumstances. Lauryn's late partner's sister, Vee (Ava Brennan) may also seek vengeance.

Who will star in Top Boy season three?

We can assume that Walters, Kano, Jobson and Hocking will reprise their roles. Ward's brothers Aaron Tovell and Stefan Toville are also likely to appear in the season.

Little Simz can also be expected to reappear as Dushane's partner, while Becks (Aboah) may return as Jaq's partner. As for Ward, he will, without doubt, be missed in the next season.
