If you're a fan of presenter and author Richard Osman, then you're probably already familiar with his debut novel, The Thursday Murder Club, and excited for the film adaptation that's coming soon.
Like the book, the Netflix adaptation will follow four elderly residents of a peaceful retirement village who meet up once a week to investigate unsolved murders. But, when a brutal killing happens on their own doorstep, they take solving the case into their own hands.

The official synopsis for the movie adaptation reads as: "The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees – Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley) and Joyce (Celia Imrie) – who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun.
"When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their causal sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands." Can't wait!

Helen Mirren as Elizabeth
Pierce Brosnan as Ron
Sir Ben Kingsley as Ibrahim
Celia Imrie as Joyce
David Tennant, Richard E. Grant, Daniel Mays, Naomi Ackie and Jonathan Pryce all have supporting roles in the adaptation, and Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter, Mrs Doubtfire) is writing and directing. Oh, and multi-Oscar-winner Steven Spielberg is producing.
"I think this is the greatest British cast assembled since the [Harry Potter] movies," Richard Osman said during an episode of his podcast, The Rest is Entertainment, last spring. "There are some great names and some more names coming as well."
The Thursday Murder Club: Release date
While a release date hasn't been confirmed yet, filming wrapped this summer so we don't think it'll be much longer until The Thursday Murder Club lands on Netflix. Watch this space – and in the meantime, read the book!
