Everything you need to know about the reboot retreat trend
Trends might naturally come and go, but there's one prediction we think will stick around well beyond 2024...
Let us introduce you to reboot retreats, one of Booking.com's top travel trends worth knowing about. An antidote to modern living, these trips grounded in self-development encourage you to disconnect from the world around you and reconnect with yourself.
For many of us, life just seems to get busier and busier each year, so the importance of taking time our for ourselves has never been greater. Equally, when we live life on autopilot we often lose sense of what really matters to us and the values we want to live by.
So, it's no surprise that many travellers are considering a reboot retreat in the new year. After all, 65 per cent of travellers want to be more like their holiday self in their day-to-day life back home.
It's this need for rest and relaxation combined with the rise in sleep tourism (aka holidays solely focused on getting good quality uninterrupted shut-eye) that has many travellers looking for holidays that supercharge their wellbeing and help them reconnect with what's most important to them.
In fact, 55 per cent of those surveyed by Booking.com revealed they want sleep-focused holidays in 2024, while 45 per cent of frazzled parents are seeking solace on solo holidays to re-set.
It's not just about taking a week out to rest and relax before returning to the hustle and bustle of reality, either. Travellers want more out of their trips, they want to learn new techniques and rituals that they can continue to practice in their every day life. Booking.com even found that 46 per cent of holidaymakers hope to reinvent their life at home further by taking time out to experience a more stripped-back lifestyle in countries where self-sufficiency is a way of life and there is a greater focus on the importance of a work-life balance and time in nature.
Sounds dreamy, right? The good news is there is no shortage of reboot retreat destinations for you to enjoy, whether you're travelling solo, with friends or with your partner.
