Joanna Page's Wild Life: What is it about?

The show focuses on Joanna as she follows her "lifelong dream" to become a wildlife rescue volunteer.

Filmed at Surrey’s Wildlife Aid hospital, it offers an intimate and heartwarming look at the rescue, rehabilitation and release of wildlife.

Each episode is packed with touching stories, fascinating facts, and plenty of hands-on animal care.

The actor's infectious enthusiasm is at the heart of the series as she gets hands-on with conservation efforts, discovers the challenges facing wildlife, and shares inspiring success stories.

Joanna said: “I’m so proud of this series and what I was able to achieve. I feel more equipped and excited to welcome wildlife into my own garden and can’t wait for viewers to see a different side to me.

"It’s also an amazingly educational series, I’m hoping that audiences will be able to go away and create little safe havens in their outdoor spaces for our wonderful wildlife species we have here across the UK.”

As part of her training the actor will have to master the three ‘R’s’ - Rescue, Rehab and Release. Starting with mucky cage and pen cleaning before progressing to animal triage training and helping in the vet room and finally going out on rescues and releases.

Joanna told the BBC: "I don't think anyone realises what I've been doing because I didn't realise what I'd be doing and how hands on I'd be with everything. (...) I think I've changed so much in the last ten weeks. I feel like I've grown up."
