Everything we know so far about Line of Duty season 7
If you're a fan of police dramas, then you're probably no stranger to BBC's hit series, Line of Duty. It's been three years since the critically-acclaimed show was last on our screens, so we need to know, will there be a new season?
The police procedural stars Vicky McClure, Martin Compston, Adrian Dunbar and more, and follows DS Steve Arnott and his colleagues working in a special and controversial police unit dedicated to rooting out corruption within the force.
Despite it being years since it was last on screens, Adrian Dunbar has now teased that the series could be returning for more drama with AC-12. So, from the cast to rumoured release date, here is what we know about season 7 of Line of Duty so far...
Has Line of Duty season 7 been confirmed?
We haven't had official confirmation of whether or not the series will return just yet, but in recent interviews, Adrian teased the future of the police thriller. "All the signals and everything is [positive] but until the script hits the desk, you can’t be 100 per cent sure," he said in an interview with Times Radio.
"We’re all hoping that someone somewhere will make an announcement and say, ‘Yes, it’s happening’. And we can all take it from there. I can tell you one thing… the day they announce it, it’s going to burn up the internet." Exciting!
Line of Duty season 7: Cast
If the series does return, then we would expect members of the AC-12 to reprise their roles. They include:
Martin Compston as DS Steve Arnott
Vicky McClure as DC Kate Fleming
Adrian Dunbar as DS Ted Hastings
Plus, they've all expressed their interest in returning to Line of Duty. In an interview with Good Morning Britain, Martin said "I believe we all are [up for doing it again]" and similarly, Vicky shared, "I speak to the lads all the time and we’d love to, we’re all game."
Line of Duty season 7: Release date
Given no official announcement has been made about whether or not Line of Duty season 7 will go ahead, there's no news on a potential schedule for the show, but if filming were to begin next year then we could hope to see AC-12 back on our screens some time in 2026. Watch this space...
