Everyone's loving Charlize Theron's new dark hair at the Oscars

We're so used to seeing Charlize Theron as a blonde that we almost didn't recognise her with a dark bob at the 2019 Oscars - but now the penny's dropped, we're digging her style switch-up.

The actress turned up on the red carpet in a stunning blue gown and snake Bulgari necklace, both of which looked fabulous but were very much her usual style - i.e. sleek and stylish. But her dark hair couldn't have been further from the platinum colour we're used to seeing.

Love it.

The new look is courtesy of hairstylist Adir Abergel, who also cut her hair into a choppy bob before the big event.

'Hair is your greatest accessory!' he wrote. 'Changing your hair is best way to transform yourself. And, why not? This week we changed @charlizeafrica look. We changed her colour earlier this week and this morning we chopped off her hair.'

Paired with the cornflower blue custom Dior gown and an orange lip, it's fair to say the look is pure fire - and the people of Twitter think so, too...

This isn't the first time Charlize has been a brunette, but it's certainly not her usual look. And on an evening where most celebs stuck to their signature style, it made a refreshing change to see the 43-year-old try something new.
