Music lovers gathered in the southern California desert for Coachella, where Bad Bunny, Blackpink, Frank Ocean and more kicked off the two-weekend-long festival, which is always about more than the music: It's also a fashion show and launchpad for spring trends. And that first weekend, attendees seemed to agree on one item in particular — and that's cowboy boots.
Picture a long denim skirt with Western-inspired shoes peaking from underneath, or a crochet dress balanced out by the leather kickers. We saw cowboy boots styled with maxi and mini skirts, matching sets, cargo pants and lots of denim. It makes sense: They're usually a more sensible footwear choice than, say, sandals when standing all day and trying to protect your feet from days of sun and mud.
