Ever/Body’s New CEO Talks Plans for the Millennial Med Spa

Millennial med spa Ever/Body’s new chief executive officer said expansion mode will resume in 2025.

Ellen Bower was named CEO of Ever/Body last month, taking over from Amy Shecter, who joined in 2020. Shecter’s next move has yet to be made public.

In an interview with WWD, Bower, who was previously chief operating officer at Women’s Care, a Tampa-based medical group specializing in women’s health, said: “A key focus over the next several years is really expanding our footprint into other markets and across some of the markets we already exist in.”

The brand currently operates 12 locations in New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Dallas, and the D.C. Metro area, with its newest center having opened this month at Wheatley Plaza on Long Island. The next wave of expansion will begin next year. In January 2023, Shecter told WWD that she was planning to have approximately 16 locations open by the end of that year.

In 2023, Ever/Body achieved $40 million in revenue, estimated some sources close to the company.

“We’ve had great expansion over the last 18 months, and we’re really making sure that the quality of curated services that we have is up-kept and the providers that we attract continue to be top notch, and that is really a big part of the expansion,” added Bower.

She believes demand for its services, which include laser facials, Botox, HydraFacial, fillers and laser hair removal, will only continue to rise. “In the world of TikTok and Instagram and social media, demand continues to grow. We see a younger demographic seeking out cosmetic dermatology services and wanting to do it right. They’re focusing on a very natural look and that’s what our expertise is.”

Of Bower’s appointment, Parker Hayden, board member of Ever/Body, said: “Her impressive background in business development and operational leadership aligns perfectly with our mission to provide exceptional services to our clients. We are confident that under Ellen’s guidance, Ever/Body will continue to thrive and fulfill its commitment to excellence in cosmetic dermatology, and we thank Amy for her leadership and dedication.”

Ever/Body was launched by former Clinique executive Kate Twist as an alternative to traditional Upper East Side cosmetic dermatology offices. Appointments can be booked online, and the business offers virtual consultations.

In 2021, Ever/Body raised a $38 million series B from a mix of investors including Tiger Global Management, Addition and Fifth Wall and later a $55.5 million series C funding in June 2023.
