Fiona Butler-Clayton’s wedding to Richard Butler took place in the Cotswolds, some two hours away from The Spinney care home in the suburbs of London where her dad Henry lives.
Due to failing health, Henry couldn't make the trip and was hugely disappointed to miss the big day. However, that’s when his carers stepped in and offered to host a wedding blessing right there in his care home.
So, together with the newlyweds and staff, Henry set about planning a wedding blessing ceremony with all the trimmings. And with family, friends, and fellow residents on hand, the father of the bride finally had his moment.
