England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has had his stunning wife Megan by his side for much of Euro 2024, with her seen going wild in the stands during last night's historic victory against the Netherlands.

The couple - who got together when they were just 14 years old - are used to being together a lot. They live in a sprawling £2.1m mansion and share son Arlo and baby daughter Ostara.

However, despite having more than a decade to plan their wedding, the actual day didn't go smoothly at all - with Jordan opting for a tracksuit and ripped jeans instead of the usual tie and smart shoes. (At least he left his goalkeeping gloves at home.)

That's because their grand plans were torpedoed by Covid, meaning they had to make do with a very casual affair. The ceremony, in a Cheshire registry office, was so low key he wore a baseball cap, tracksuit and ripped jeans for the happy day.

Megan, 28, was dressed in more traditional wedding attire, opting for a blouse and white fur for the very small ceremony.

The couple were set to have their big day in the Maldives followed by a party in Sunderland but the pandemic changed their plans and they eventually said their 'I do's at a registry office in Crewe, Cheshire.

An onlooker told The Sun: “They didn't dress to impress. It looked like they were out shopping. It sure wasn't Premier League! After the photos, the whole wedding party got in a people-carrier and left.”

England's number one and his new wife were joined by a small handful of their nearest and dearest, with their wedding photos taken on mobile phones.

It’s believed they wanted a “low-key” day to mark becoming husband and wife.

Megan shared a photo on Instagram of what would have been their wedding day, writing: “We’re getting married in the morning... Well we should have been!

"It’s all gone a bit Pete Tong, so here’s a throwback of us on our legal registry office day since there are bigger things going on in the world right now." She told him: "You are worth the wait my love."

As well as their Maldives wedding being cancelled, Jordan also had to to help Megan with a engagement ring disaster when the £500,000 sparkler got stuck on her finger due to water retention when pregnant.

Megan asked her followers whether any of them could help her, as she desperately tried washing-up liquid, butter and ice to try and slip it off her finger.

Unfortunately, the fate of the ring came when they were forced to go to the jewellers to have it cut off, with Megan telling fans: "Thanks so much everyone for the messages, I'll try and reply once I have feeling back in my fingers."

Last night, Megan shared a message to her husband ahead of the game, which England went on to win in no small part because of the daring saves pulled off by Jordan.

Dressed in an England kit, she posted: "Please don’t take me home @jpickford1" followed by a string of red heart emojis.
