Former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tammadon has been rushed to hospital after experiencing severe pain. The star took to social media late on Wednesday evening, 12 June, to share her ordeal with her 98,300 followers.

She revealed that she woke up in such pain that she thought her "head was gonna explode," and then proceeded to vomit.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Hayley, who played Del Dingle in the popular soap, was put on a drip for direct medication into her bloodstream. Unfortunately, this did not alleviate her pain as she described her "head and neck pain still horrendous."

The actress then shared that she had received a life-changing diagnosis - arthritis.

She wrote: "Today. Woke up. Thought my head was gonna explode. Puked up twice. Took Jasper to nursery. Got ready for a photo shoot. Got there and realised I really should see a doctor. Ended up in hospital. On a drop for medication. It didn't work", reports the Mirror.

She continued: "Head and neck pain still horrendous. Had a scan. Got told I have arthritis."

Despite her diagnosis and ongoing pain, Hayley managed to pick up her son Jasper from nursery, make tea, put him to bed, and take some tablets before breaking down in tears. She concluded her post by saying she would be returning to the hospital the following day, writing: "Life of a single mum."

Hayley welcomed her son Jasper in 2019 with partner Adrian, who she later split from.

The type and severity of arthritis that Hayley is suffering from is currently unknown. This condition causes severe pain and inflammation in the joints.

It's estimated that millions across the UK, including children, are affected by this condition. Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are currently the two most common types in the UK.

According to the NHS, typical symptoms include joint pain, tenderness and stiffness, inflammation around the joints, limited movement, warm red skin over the affected area, and muscle weakness and wasting.

Hayley's hospital visit follows her son Jasper's emergency hospital admission earlier this year. The star, who also featured on Coronation Street, shared with her followers that her little one "couldn't stop being sick".

She updated fans that he was undergoing "lots of tests" as doctors tried to determine the cause of his illness.

After his hospital visit, Jasper was admitted to a ward and put on an IV drip. In another health scare for Hayley in 2022, she was diagnosed with viral meningitis.
