Emmerdale star 'gutted' as he's axed from soap after 15 years - with no chance to return

Actor Sam Hall has reportedly been axed from Emmerdale after playing Samson Dingle for 15 years.

The actor started on the show when he was just five years old and has continued to become a major character on the soap. But according to The Sun, Sam has been axed with Samson set to be killed off.

A source said: “Sam had a meeting with bosses earlier this month where they broke the news. He has been left devastated. He’s grown up with his on-screen Dingle clan and they are all very protective of him. Some of the cast even went to talk to bosses about their decision.”

The source continued: “The fact that they are planning on killing him off means there’ll be no way back for him either. He’s absolutely gutted.”

OK! reached out to Emmerdale reps who declined to comment.

Samson had a huge storyline last year and welcomed his first child with Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), after a one night stand. During that time Amelia was in a relationship with Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) - who attempted to get Samson to step up and be a father to Esther.

There are some huge storylines currently playing out in Emmerdale with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) being manipulated by her new husband Tom King (James Chase). And an upcoming special episode will reveal more about their relationship.

Producer Laura Shaw said: “It's a dinner party mainly focussing on Tom and Belle and Marlon and Rhona and we'll see what's going on in their relationship and how what you see in public is not necessarily what you see behind closed doors”.

Meanwhile, Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) baby son, Evan, will be diagnosed with leukaemia in upcoming scenes. Olivia said of the storyline: “This is an incredibly challenging and heartbreaking story, but such an important story for Emmerdale to tell. I've learnt so much since working with Leukaemia Care and speaking to parents whose children have been diagnosed, and we want to not only raise awareness but to do justice to the experience of families who are blindsided by a diagnosis like this.”

She continued: “For Dawn and Billy, like many parents, Evan's diagnosis turns their world upside down so unexpectedly. It's been inspiring to hear the stories of strength, resilience and also to hear of the incredible NHS staff who do such invaluable work when parents' are at their lowest, so I hope we can also reflect this as we approach this storyline.”
