Emmerdale announces two new characters to shake up village in ‘unwelcome family reunion’
An Emmerdale family reunion is due to cause chaos for the Milligans on the ITV soap, it has been revealed. Ruby Fox-Milligan (played by Beth Cordingly), who is the estranged wife of businessman Caleb Milligan (William Ash), has been causing mayhem in the village since arriving in the Dales earlier this year.
ITV bosses have now confirmed Ruby's family members are due to cause further upset. In scenes yet to air, Ruby's daughter Stephanie (Georgia Jay) and father Anthony (Nicholas Day) will see her forced to complete an unwelcome family reunion. Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper teased: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Nicholas and Georgia to Emmerdale as part of the Milligan family.
“With so much yet to discover about Ruby, the arrival of her father and daughter will unlock her past and see Ruby and Caleb tested in ways we’ve never seen before. With two actors of such great calibre, they’re certainly set to make their mark on the Dales.”

Anthony is known to be charismatic and "seems like delightful company to the outside world", she added. However, he's been missing from his daughter Ruby's life for quite some time.
Actor Nicholas said of joining the soap: “I’ve been made so welcome in the Emmerdale family. And my screen family is great to work with, the scenes just fly. No kidding – I feel blessed.”
Meanwhile, Stephanie is described as "completely reckless" and hasn't seen her parents, Ruby and Caleb, for over a decade.
The actress playing her said: “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. The cast and crew have all been so welcoming, and I’m very excited to see what lies ahead for Steph, given her intriguing backstory.”
The arrival of these two characters comes after Ruby's mother, Helen Fox (Sharon Maughan), died in recent episodes.
At the time of her death, viewers watched on with concern over Caleb’s increasingly strange business practices.
The newcomers' first scenes on the beloved soap will air later this month.
Emmerdale is on Monday to Friday on ITV and ITVX at 7.30pm.
