Emily Ratajkowski feels like she attracts ‘the worst men’ after Pete Davidson split: ‘I want a confident man’
Emily Ratajkowski has shared how she feels she “attracts the worst men”, following her split with Pete Davidson.
The model and actress, 31, opened up about her dating life and experiences on the latest episode of her High Low podcast, released on 3 January, as she spoke with Tik Tok sensation Olivia Ponton.
Ratajkowski and Davidson, 29, were confirmed to be dating in November, as they made their first public appearance together at an NBA game at Madison Square Garden, however were said to have split weeks later.
“I feel like I attract the worst men,” Ratajkowski said on her podcast. She added that men always feel the need to “prove” themselves, suggesting a dig at ex Davidson.
“Sometimes I’m like, ‘f**k’, because I want a confident man,” Ratajkowski continued.
“I don’t want an overly confident man who has something to prove and is trying to prove it through me. That is not what I want.”
The podcaster shared her gripes about dating in general on the episode, with men in particular, as she vented her frustrations.
Ratajkowski said: “They’re like, ‘OK, yes, you’re special. You’ve done it.’ And they love it and love it, and then slowly they get emasculated and…don’t know what to do with those feelings, and then they resent you.”
The model described herself as being “back to square one” as she discussed the failure of her past romances, after being “teared down”.
“It’s so f***ed up and unfair, because I feel like a lot of men who truly think they want a strong woman actually don’t know how to handle it and…what it means for their own identity,” Ratajkowski finished.
The My Body author was reported by US Weekly to have split amicably with comedian Davidson on 29 December, according to a source.
Davidson broke up with Kim Kardashian three months prior to dating Ratajkowski.
The model filed for divorced from her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard after four years of marriage, due to cheating claims, in September. The pair share a son Sylvester Apollo Bear, 21 months.
Since their reported split, Ratajkowski has been spotted with artist Jack Greer, while Davidson was rumoured to be seeing one of his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-stars, after attending a New York Rangers game with them.
