Emily Atack's hair transformation is for new TV show Rivals

Celebrity Juice's Emily Atack has an exciting TV job on the horizon, which explains her latest hair transformation.

Over on Instagram Stories yesterday (March 21), the star re-shared the cast announcement for Disney+ drama Rivals, an adaptation of Jilly Cooper's iconic 1988 novel.

"Can FINALLY reveal the reason behind by new bonce..." Atack wrote over it. "I'll be playing the very naughty Sarah Stratton in 'Rivals' - THE DREAM!!! And Christ, what a cast."

Her character Sarah is Deputy Prime Minister Paul Stratton's "ambitious" wife, who is "not afraid to use her looks to get to the top".

Rufus Jones of W1A plays Paul, described as "in the throes of a midlife crisis" and "everyone knows it".

The series explores the cutthroat arena of '80s independent television, where in the fictional county of Rutshire, a longstanding rivalry between two powerful men reaches boiling point.

Alex Hassell has been cast as Rupert Campbell-Black, the dashing and dangerously charismatic ex-Olympian and Tory MP, while David Tennant will play Lord Tony Baddingham, Rupert's egotistical neighbour and controller of Corinium Television.

Original author Cooper commented (via Disney): "I'm utterly enchanted to be able to announce our all-star line-up for Rivals. Featuring some of the best acting talent that the British Isles has to offer, I couldn't have dreamed of a better ensemble cast.

"I cannot wait to be on set and see them bring the characters I love so much to life."

Her statement continued: "The minute we met with Alex, we knew he'd perfectly embody my all-time hero, the iconic, racy, ruthless, and devastatingly handsome, Rupert Campbell-Black. Viewers are in for a treat!"
