As the trainer responsible for building Michael B. Jordan’s killer physique in films such as Creed and Black Panther, Corey Calliet knows a thing or two about body transformations. As it turns out, the elite coach recently underwent a pretty astonishing transformation himself.

In a recent Instagram post, Calliet shared before and after photos of himself topless from 11 November 2022 and 4 February 2023 – in both of which he weighed 227.5 lbs. The difference is remarkable.

‘At the end of last year, I decided to take my physique up a few notches,’ Calliet wrote. ‘While I loved cycling, running and endurance training, I realised my body wasn’t responding because I wouldn’t take in enough nutrients throughout the day and also my body wasn’t recovering at night from lack of sleep.’

This realisation led to Calliet reducing the amount of endurance training he was doing, spending more time weight training and focusing on nutrition and rest. As you can see, the results speak for themselves.

‘I never thought I would get back in this kinda shape without prepping to be on stage again,’ said Calliet. ‘Before picture: I was stressed out, over training, not recovering, sleepless nights, heart wasn’t in a good place, and would use working out as a distraction to deal with what I was going through.’

His new perspective on training was what he needed to get back on track. ‘After picture: started to do the inner work first and deal with the shit that was going on,’ he wrote.

‘[I] also made myself a priority and released anything in my life that didn’t serve me. [I] stopped working out so many times a day and focused on proper strength training and good nutrition. My body was able to recover better because I started to sleep and my mind was at ease.’

The moral of the story? ‘Change won’t happen until you’re ready to face what’s going on inside you first,’ said Calliet. ‘That’s where the real transformation happens.’
