The most popular eco-friendly baby names for 2020 have been revealed in a new study — and it seems more people are giving their newborns 'green' names such as Luna, Aurora and Atlas.
Research, which was conducted by the team at Save On Energy, analysed Nameberry's trending baby names of 2020. After looking into the top 500 baby names, they found the eco-friendly monikers are most popular among girls. In fact, there are twice as many 'green' baby names for girls in the top 500, compared to boys.
Some of the top names for girls include Luna, Aurora, Isla and Hazel, while for boys the popular names were Oliver, Jasper, Leo and Kai.
When asked about why they would give their children eco-friendly names, 18% of parents said they would do so because they follow a green lifestyle, while 22% explained they liked the meanings behind the name.
