EastEnders' Linda Carter left furious as the Knight family arrive

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Linda Carter will be left enraged next week, as new family the Knights make their big arrival in Albert Square.

Since her husband Mick's disappearance at the end of last year, Linda has been running The Queen Vic alone, but she's now getting some help with the pub from her mother, Elaine Peacock, who is the venue's new co-owner.

However, Linda is about to learn that Elaine's involvement comes with some extra strings attached...

In scenes to air next week, charming newcomer George Knight will suddenly rock up in Walford, accompanied by his daughters, Anna and Gina.

After they arrive at The Vic, Linda is stunned when George introduces himself as Elaine's partner and reveals that the family has arrived from Marbella to help run the pub.

Linda is incandescent with rage, as she realises that her mum's plan all along when buying into the pub was to invite her fiancé and his family along to join her.

George's arrival causes quite a stir among the other Walford locals, too, as he's instantly recognised by Jack Branning, Phil Mitchell and market trader Winston as being a championship boxer.

Back at The Vic, George makes a promise to Linda that he won't be causing her any trouble, as all he wants to do is build a fantastic new life with Elaine and his daughters.

Will Linda be appeased by his words, or is there more conflict to come for the pair?

EastEnders recently dropped a new trailer introducing the Knight family, confirming that they'll be arriving on our screens on June 1.

The role of Elaine has now been taken over by acclaimed stage actress Harriet Thorpe, with the role previously played by Maria Friedman in various guest stints.

George is played by Arrow and Doctor Who star Colin Salmon, while Gina is played by A Discovery of Witches actress Francesca Henry and Anna by Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford.

EastEnders producer Chris Clenshaw has teased that the new family will be shaking up Walford, calling their arrival "a new dawn".

"George, Gina and Anna have been bound together for years and arriving in Walford is the fresh start the Knights are looking for," he said, adding that they will be "immediately thrown into the heart of the Square".

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
