Eamonn Holmes has hit out at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship during an on-air rant that was branded "fiesty" by his royal commentator co-star Kinsey Schofield.

The ex-This Morning presenter told the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to "stop spending the money" and wondered aloud whether the former Suits actress was "the problem".

It came after the panel on GB News today discussed the couple's much-discussed move to California, with Eamonn's co-host Isabel Webster saying sympathetically: "I can only imagine the culture shock that Harry has faced arriving there.

"This is a kid that has grown up in castles, went to Eton college, holidayed walking across British country estates, on horseback, playing polo. There isn't an awful lot of that that happens in California."

The news presenter, 39, added: "Four years ago the man learned how to pay his phone bill. Four years ago his schedule was handed to him and somebody else was managing his day and money.

"Now he goes to bed every night worrying about how he's going to pay the mortgage, how he's going to pay for security and certainly how he's going to pay this incredible PR team."

Eamonn, 64, cut in, insisting: "Well, I've got a suggestion, stop spending the money then. It's as simple as that."

Kinsey added that Harry has "adult responsibilities" to contend with now he's outside the royal bubble that "you and I struggle with," leading Eamonn to question whether Meghan, 42, is causing the problem.

The presenter, who has recently split from wife Ruth Langsford, said bluntly: "I understand what he struggles with, but then what is the issue? Is she the problem?"

A shocked-sounding Isabel replied: "Eamonn you are feisty this morning" but conceded that Meghan has "created a lot of roadblocks" for her famous husband.

But warming to his theme, Eamonn went on: "She calls the shots," adding: "It's quite obvious. It's where her career is going, what she is interested in, who she wants around her." He concluded: "It's all about her."
