Dunkin' Just Added a Surprising New Treat to Its Holiday Menu
It's a first for the brand.
Even the Grinchiest among us look forward to a holiday gift or two as the weather outside gets frightful. And our favorite food brands are coming out in force with deals and products to beat the “Bah humbugs!” From new Christmas cookie mixes from Betty Crocker to cans of White Russians to wash them down, Santa has been delivering the festive treats early this year.
In fact, at Dunkin’, the fun started more than a month ago. That was when the brand launched its holiday menu, bringing back fan-favorite holiday drinks like its Peppermint Mocha Signature Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte, and Cookie Butter Cold Brew (which is ideal for pairing with the beloved Cookie Butter Donut). The coffee chain also launched a brand-new seasonal sipper: the Holiday Cookie Signature Latte.
But using holiday cookies as a flavoring, no matter how enticing, is no longer enough for the Dunkin’ team. This year, the donut giant is celebrating National Cookie Day with a big debut that marks a first for the brand’s bakery case.
Dunkin' Introduces Its First Decorated Shortbread Cookies
America may run on Dunkin’ but we’re running to our nearest location for the debut of its newest menu item. The brand is launching its first-ever holiday sugar cookie this month, and we’re drooling.
That’s because the Decorated Shortbread Cookies are made to look like our favorite Dunkin’ treat, the Strawberry Frosted Sprinkle Donut. But don’t expect yeasted dough in this sweet. The crumbly, buttery shortbread cookie base only looks like a doughnut, piped with pink frosting and topped with festive rainbow sprinkles for a delight that recalls our childhoods. There’s no way we can eat just one.
And that’s not Dunkin’s only holiday-themed treat. Holiday Sprinkle Donuts will also be available throughout the season. Strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla donuts will be adorned with colorful mixed sprinkles that resemble green pine trees and white snowflakes as well as regular red sprinkles. Better yet—you can get one for free throughout the month of December.
How to Get a Free Donut From Dunkin’ in December
Sometimes, it truly pays to be a Dunkin’ Rewards Member. Case in point? By joining the brand's rewards program, members can take part in Free Donut Wednesdays every week through Dec. 25.
How do you collect? All you have to do is purchase a drink on any Wednesday in December. That should be easy, given sips like the wintry White Hazelnut Bark Coffee, which is bound to warm you up with a sweet kick. Once you’ve paid for your beverage, Rewards Members can choose any classic doughnut, gratis. We’re feeling the good cheer of a great deal already.
