The Duchess of Sussex put a California spin on business-casual attire for her latest outing.

Friday 11 October marked International Day of the Girl, and Meghan celebrated in style by making a visit to Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara, a youth leadership organisation that mentors and guides young girls.

While spending time with Girls Inc. members, Meghan looked effortlessly elegant in a cornflower blue shirt with a white collar and white arm cuffs, which she then tucked into a pair of crisp white wide-leg trousers. She styled the look with classic caramel accents, including a wide leather belt and suede pointed-toe pumps, and wore her long hair down and centre-parted, with loose waves.

Through the Sussexes nonprofit, the Archewell Foundation, the duchess worked with Pivotal Ventures and the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation to support Girls Inc.’s new partnership with #HalfTheStory, a movement that focuses on responsibility in tech and digital safety.

A Sussex.com press release explained that the initiative “will equip girls with essential tools to thrive in the digital landscape while fostering healthier relationships with technology” by focusing on “key issues such as body image, friendships, healthy digital habits, and safety from sexual predators”.

Meghan and Harry have long advocated for online safety, making it one of their prominent causes since stepping back from their roles as senior members of the royal family back in 2020.

In August, the duchess described how their children, Archie and Lilibet, inspire their work in the field. “Our kids are young, they’re three and five – they’re amazing,” she said in an interview with CBS News Sunday Morning’s Jane Pauley. “But all you want to do as parents is protect them. So, as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”
