It’s been a very busy, and long, weekend for the royal family. Following the Queen’s official 90th birthday celebrations, which took place from Friday to Sunday, a handful of the royal family congregated in Windsor today for the Garter Service at Windsor Castle.

Throughout the last four days, the Duchess of Cambridge has hit headlines for her stylish choice of attire - she’s wowed in labels including London Fashion Week favourite Roksanda, Roland Mouret and Alexander McQueen - but she’s topped the lot with today’s outfit: A bright red Catherine Walker number paired with a matching Lock & Co hat, stilettos and a plain red dress.

The flared coat dress, which boasts two statement buttons and power shoulders, looks fantastic on the mum-of-two and has been worn by the 34-year-old royal on another occasion - to Calgary Zoo in Canada back in 2011.

She completed the look with a sleek chignon in her hair and more jewellery than usual, including a beautiful pair of acorn diamond earrings that her parents gave her as a wedding present (and she wore for the big day), a understated necklace and an art deco inspired bracelet, which she’s been spotted in before.

Despite the rain, the Duchess was all smiles at the event. But while the weather didn’t affect Kate, it did mean that the traditional procession of carriages through Windsor Castle couldn’t take place. Instead, Kate, Prince William, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, arrived by car.
