Children of those who have died serving in the Armed Forces will today get the chance to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

The royal trio are hosting a Party at the Palace to honour over 800 children who are dealing with bereavement at a very young age.

Kate arrived in a cream knitted dress from See by Chloé. The £320 long-sleeved style was first spotted on the Duchess at a children’s party in Canada last year.

Featuring a Victorian-style ruffled collar, the elegant dress was paired with a matching leather belt by Acne Studios. Kate kept her perfectly coiffed hair down in its usual waves, finishing off her elegant look with Monsoon wedges.

Live performances from the likes of Jess Glynne will take place alongside a number of stalls teaching science experiments, circus skills and cake decorating.

The children will also get the chance to participate in workshops on beatboxing, breakdancing and a variety of other sports.

Charities specialising in bereavement and grief will be on hand to provide support if needed.

Princes William and Harry have personal experience with the loss of a parent after losing their mother, Diana, at the ages of 15 and 13 respectively.

They arranged the event in the hope that families will widen their support network and get the chance to talk to others who are going through similar emotions and experiences.

Over the past month, the royal brothers have both spoken out on their mental health after Diana’s tragic death. “The shock never leaves you,” Prince William was heard saying in a BBC documentary.

Prince Harry, meanwhile, opened up in a podcast, revealing that he “shut down” after his mother’s death and had only sought counselling years after the accident.
