The Duchess of Cambridge has long reigned the fashion industry but it seems she’s turned to Hollywood for sartorial advice in recent months.

In a newly-released photograph of Kate, Prince Charles and six-month-old Prince Louis – eagle-eyed royal fans were quick to spot a familiar outfit.

For the candid family portrait, the 37-year-old is wearing the very polka dot midi dress the Duchess of Sussex’s former ‘Suits’ co-star, Abigail Spencer, wore to the royal wedding.

The £1,750 number is by London-based designer Alessandra Rich and first graced the headlines at Harry and Meghan’s May 19 nuptials in Windsor.

Spencer wore the ensemble with a co-ordinating floral headpiece, a bejewelled belt and a lick of winter-ready lipstick.

The actress was spotted arriving at the ceremony alongside Meghan’s other close friend Priyanka Chopra and the duo soon found a place in every leading publication’s best dressed list.

The dress featured in Rich’s SS18 line and is seriously covetable due to its oversized white collar, statement cuffs and flared skirt. According to the designer, the collection sought inspiration from Alfred Eisenstaedt’s 1945 photograph of a sailor embracing a stranger in Times Square.

But the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t the only royal to have imitated the look, as her sister Pippa wore a baby blue version of the dress for Prince Louis’ christening back in April.

In an unsurprising turn of events, the dress has sold out online. For those of you who can’t resist a royal ensemble, a similar look is currently available for £1,715 over on Matches.
