Shop the Duchess of Cambridge's first Royal Ascot 2019 outfit - and three more affordable looks
In a fashion move which surprised royal fans, the Duchess of Cambridge broke her all-white Royal Ascot streak in a one-tone powder blue look this afternoon.
To kick-start this year’s fashionable proceedings, the mother-of-three chose a bespoke Elie Saab lace ensemble with exaggerated pussy-bow detailing.
In keeping with the notoriously strict dress code, the outfit - plucked from the Resort SS19 collection - was customised to include sheer sleeves.
It looks as though she wore the £1,275 Macramé Pussy Bow top teamed with the £2,350 matching tulle skirt.
A pair of her favourite £3,500 Kiki McDonough topaz earrings and a wide-brimmed hat by the royal family’s go-to milliner, Philip Treacy, finished the race-day ensemble.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s latest ensemble was a pleasant surprise for some, as she’s previously only worn cream lace to the prestigious event.
