Dua Lipa takes a maximalist approach to the bow trend
If ever there was a time to live by the phrase “go big or go home,” Couture Week would be the time to do it.
It seems that Dua Lipa is living by that code—at least, in a sartorial sense. The Grammy-winning singer swept into Paris to sit front row at Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2025 couture show on Tuesday. Joining other A-list celebrities like Lily-Rose Depp, Marion Cotillard, and Kylie Jenner, Lipa stood out in the wave of fashionable figures thanks to her maximalist approach to the bow trend.
This involved wearing a massive black bow at the back of her half-up-half-down hairstyle, plus another bow fastened to the neckline of an operatic, floor-sweeping black cape that she wore wrapped around her body. Beneath the cloak, she kept in line with the all-black theme, opting for a silky black mini dress with a sheer under layer and velvet-trimmed ruffled bodice.
To accessorise, the pop star added a multi-tiered pearl strand waist chain and a plump quilted black leather handbag. She completed the look with sheer black tights and peep-toe heels.
Outside, Lipa shed her cape, although she kept the giant bow fixed to the back of her head. Slipping out of her slinky LBD, the Training Season singer changed into a black tweed set composed of a collarless jacket and a matching mini skirt.
“I’ve always loved dressing up,” Lipa told Harper’s Bazaar US in a 2017 interview. “I like it when things look like you’ve just thrown them on, and sometimes the things you really do just throw on look the best. I’ve always been inspired by the ’90s, and I like wearing baggy trousers, and blazers with slip dresses and thigh-high boots or leather jackets, and just a mixture of all those together.”
