Dua Lipa has undergone a hair makeover to front Versace's A/W 21 campaign and sports long red locks in newly released images.
The singer proudly shows off her fiery new mane in a series of images taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and the label's chief creative director Donatella Versace said Dua embraced the makeover.
"She also trusted me when I asked her, she did not hesitate," the designer said in an interview with WWD. "Blonde was banal - even though I am blonde, and fiery red is a symbol of passion and strength."
Dua is known to be a fan of the Italian fashion house and has worn Versace at a series of high-profile events since she met Donatella at a Versus show in London in 2017.
Donatella said Dua is the perfect choice to represent the luxury brand as she embodies many of the characteristics that the designer holds dear.
Revealing she was first impressed by "the way she speaks", Donatella also praised Dua's work ethic, inner strength and confidence.
"She hasn't had it easy, she has fought for what she believed in and for what she has achieved," the designer said. "She reminds me of women in the south of Italy, she leads, she is not led."
Donatella was particularly impressed when she saw Dua perform at the Brit Awards in 2018 wearing a swimsuit and denim jacket bearing Versace's Trésor de la Mer print.
"She was so self-confident, beautiful and bold, dancing and feeling free," she recalled.
Donatella shared that working with Dua on the new campaign was a joy because the singer understood which pieces would suit her and she impressed with her modelling skills.
"She is very eclectic and nobody told her what to do, she was very instinctive and she interprets the dress, she is not worn by it," Donatella added.
