How to draw a Christmas tree step-by-step

STEP 1

Draw a tall triangle in the middle of the page.

STEP 2

Draw four, evenly spaced lines horizontally across the triangle, each one extending out a little over the edges of the triangle. Extend the bottom line of the triangle, too.

STEP 3

Draw a curve joining the top of the tree to the end of the line just beneath it. Repeat this below by drawing a similar curve from the point where the first line crosses the triangle, down to the end of the line beneath it. Do this all the way down, and then repeat on the other side.

STEP 4

Add a pot beneath the tree by drawing an upside-down trapezoid shape.

STEP 5

To draw the star for the top of the tree, draw a large plus sign coming out from the top of the tree. Draw a smaller x sign in the middle of this. Similar to before, draw a small inwards curve joining the end of the top of the plus sign with the end of the line beneath it. Go all the way round the star clockwise, creating an eight-sided starburst shape.

STEP 6

Create texture on the tree by adding some wiggly zig-zag lines to the bottom of each line going across the tree.

STEP 7

For the fairy lights, draw a wavy, diagonal line going across each ‘section’ of the tree, starting from the top and going downwards. Add some small circles along these lines, both above and below.
