Drake Bell's wife Janet Von Schmeling files for divorce after the actor went missing

In a recent development, Janet Von Schmeling, wife of actor Drake Bell, has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their separation.

The couple, who share a one-year-old son named Wyatt Bell, initially separated in September 2022.

According to court documents, Janet is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their child but is open to granting visitation rights to Bell as part of the divorce agreement.

This news comes a week after the actor, aged 36, resurfaced following reports of him being missing.

On April 13th, Drake took to Twitter to express his disbelief at the widespread news of his family reporting him missing, saying that he had left his phone in the car and hadn't answered for the night.

Drake, who gained fame through Nickelodeon shows such as "Drake & Josh" and "The Amanda Show," was reported missing by his family before being found by police in Florida on April 13th.

Prior to his disappearance, the actor had "caused concern" among family members due to some communications.

It was later revealed that some relatives were unaware of his presence in Florida, where his estranged wife Janet resides with their toddler son.

The former child star has had a history of erratic behavior, including multiple DUI arrests and a guilty plea to charges of attempted endangering of children and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

He received two years' probation for these charges.

In January, Drake reportedly entered treatment after he was seen appearing to suck on a balloon in the front seat of his parked car for over thirty minutes with his son in the vehicle.

Following the couple's separation, the actress, moved to Florida with their son, Jeremy.

Drake was later spotted in Los Angeles, running errands and visiting a local vape shop.

In December, exclusive images surfaced of Bell inflating and deflating balloons in the front seat of his parked car outside his home while wearing a hat and sunglasses.

The actor was later seen taking his sleeping son out of the car and bringing him into the house. It remains unclear whether any substance was inside the balloons.
