Donatella Versace praises Dua Lipa's runway debut

Donatella Versace has congratulated Dua Lipa on her debut runway show.

The New Rules hitmaker hit the catwalk as part of the Versace show held during Milan Fashion Week on Friday, first wearing a hot pink chainmail two-piece ensemble and then a black dress with a cutout and Versace's iconic gold safety pins.

Following the spectacle, Donatella took to Instagram to praise the popstar's commitment.

"WE DID ITTTTT!!! @dualipa you are as much a STAR on the runway as you are on stage!!! I love uuuuuu (sic) !!!!" the designer posted.

The show's soundtrack featured hits from Dua's latest album, Future Nostalgia.

And she also uploaded a series of photos from the night, and described walking the runway as a career highlight.

"Such an honour to open and close the @versace show tonight in Milan. A surreal moment I'll never EVER forget!! @donatella_versace you know I'll be your Versace girl forever," the 26-year-old added. "Thank you to the whole team who made tonight possible I am in awe of you and your teams."

The Versace runway show also featured appearances from models including Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk, Adut Akech, Stella Maxwell, Lourdes Leon, and Naomi Campbell.
