A documentary about Princess Anne is coming to ITV
A documentary called Princess Royal: Anne at 70 about the Queen's daughter Princess Anne is coming to ITV ahead of her 70th birthday in August.
The 90-minute documentary was filmed over more than a year by Oxford Films, which has also created a number of documentaries about the Queen and Princess Diana for ITV.
The broadcaster said the documentary will give royal fans unique insight into Princess Anne's public and private life.
As well as an exclusive look behind the scenes with the Princess, the documentary will feature family conversations with her children Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, as well as interviews with her school friends, her Ladies in Waiting and representatives of charities of which she is patron.
The documentary will give viewers an insight into the huge range of work Princess Anne does, both home and abroad. It will also give royal fans a glimpse at her private life, how she is with her children and her grandchildren.
Princess Anne will speak about the highs and lows of her life in the documentary, and address the incident in which she was the victim of an attempted kidnap which failed in 1974.
Speaking about the documentary Jo Clinton-Davis, Controller of Factual at ITV, said: "With exclusive, up close and extensive access to Princess Anne, her family and those closest to her, this fascinating film is a landmark event on a landmark birthday."
Nicolas Kent, Creative Director for Oxford Films and Executive Producer for Princess Royal: Anne at 70, said: “It’s been fascinating, especially in such an eventful and significant year, to follow The Princess Royal and hear from her family, friends and colleagues, many of whom are speaking about her for the first time.”
Princess Royal: Anne at 70 will air on ITV.
