Harrods' Christmas windows are the stuff of legend, but for the 2022 festive season the iconic department store has truly outdone itself by transforming into a gigantic, super chic gingerbread house courtesy of Dior. Yes, really.

Unveiled on Thursday, 'The Fabulous World of Dior' is Harrods' largest-ever brand takeover, encompassing all 44 windows (for the first time in history), the façade, light display, two pop-ups, an exhibition and a café – all of which will remain gloriously in situ until January 3, 2023.

Think a gigantic, 17-metre Shepherd's Star sculpture, gingerbread-themed displays, warm brown and caramel-hued interiors, and Dior-ified biscuits absolutely everywhere, in both edible and non-edible form. Plus, a good few exclusive items to add to your Christmas list, of course.

The new Le Café Dior is a must-visit for aesthetes and food-lovers alike, and will surely become an influencer hotspot in no time with its toile de Jouy-covered interiors, knockout breakfasts and biscuits that have been given the high-fashion treatment (and taste just as good as they look).

But the jewel in Dior's ever-sparkling crown has to be the exhibition. Free to visit and located beneath Dior's accessories department (you can book your slot online here), visitors are taken on a magical, immersive journey through Mr Christian Dior's world via intricate installations of 30 Avenue Montaigne, his childhood Granville home and his manor house, La Colle Noir.

Think miniature Dior gowns, charming animations and Mr Dior as a gingerbread man/child dreaming up his future as a world-famous fashion designer – and perhaps this very takeover, too.
