Dior and Kaws Makes a Comeback For 2025
Kim Jones is one of the leading figures who rendered collaborations a defining feature of contemporary luxury fashion.
Inspired by the communal workings of skatewear and sneaker brands, the British tastemaker encouraged Louis Vuitton – a maison that had already successfully embraced guest designers (see: Takashi Murakami x Louis Vuitton [2003], Kanye West x Louis Vuitton [2009]) under the watch of Marc Jacobs – to open its doors wider to work with the likes of Fragment Design and Supreme.
At his first show for Dior which took place in the summer of 2018, Jones erected a 33-foot tall flower sculpture of Brian Donnelly's design. The models paraded around the figure wearing garms created in partnership with the American pop artist who will you know as Kaws.
With this, Jones, ever the disruptor, demonstrated that he would continue his mission to expand access to high-end labels at the LV competitor. It's safe to say this is a commitment he's seen through over the last few years having teamed up with the likes of Kenny Scharf, Travis Scott, Lewis Hamilton, Amoako Boafo, Eli Russell Linnetz and more.
To kickstart a fresh quinquennium, Jones has re-enlisted Kaws to co-create a capsule collection for 2025.
The new year drop celebrates all things Kim Jones-era Dior by including the staple offerings that the Londoner has dreamt up for the Parisian label over the last seven years. As disciples of Dior menswear will know, that means tailored tracksuits, quilted overshirts, neo-prep varisty jackets, sports-inspired sneakers and saddle-shaped tech accessories.
Dior and Kaws 2025 also looks to the future via a reptilian take on the Dior wordmark: Kaws' cartoonish re-work of the brand's identity is a “fusion of excellence” that toasts to The Year of The Snake.
A zodiac, aptly, of renewal.
The Dior and Kaws 2025 collection is now available on the Dior webstore and in Dior boutiques worldwide. Prices start at £240.
