What’s the dill with Jimmy John’s new Picklewich? Here’s what people are saying.

Jimmy John's latest menu item is putting people in a pickle: Is it worth trying?

Last week, the sandwich chain released its Picklewich for a limited time. A take on the traditional Jimmy John's sandwich, the Picklewich features "two halves of a crisp Jimmy Pickle" in lieu of fresh bread.

The pickle promotion includes a Turkey Picklewich (turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomato), Vito Picklewich (salami, capocollo, provolone, onion, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar and oregano-basil) and the return of the Pickle Jimmy Chips (dill-flavored potato chips). Both sandwiches are served on a jumbo kosher dill pickle.

Over the past week, content creators have flocked their local Jimmy John's stores to share their thoughts on the new, dilly sandwich.

10 out of 10

Foodie content creator Anidas Lajaunie taste-tested the Turkey Picklewich and Pickle Jimmy Chips on Tuesday.

"I have been so excited," Lajaunie said in his TikTok video. "It's 10:30 (a.m.) and I was like, 'I have to get it.'"

Following a big, crunchy bite, Lajaunie shakes his head in apparent disbelief before going in for another.

"I love that so much," Lajaunie says between bites. "Jimmy John's, thank you so much for doing this. I'm so happy. Yum!"

Jimmy John's is unveiling the Picklewich, available for a limited time beginning Oct. 28, the company announced on Thursday.

Antavia Lauren, an Atlanta-based food and travel influencer, also praised the sandwich, rating the Turkey Picklewich seven out of 10 and the Vito Picklewich a 10 out of 10. As for the chips though, they didn't meet Lauren's expectations.

"Jimmy John's, you got the sandwiches right, but these pickle chips, I would probably give them maybe like a five," she said in her TikTok video.

But not everyone is a fan.

'Save your money'

"This is not good and I love pickles," Maggie Sterling, a weight loss coach, said in a TikTok video reviewing the Turkey Picklewich on Tuesday. "Save your money."

Content creator Kimberling Cherrell said on Wednesday that while the Picklewich is worth a try, she doesn't enjoy it's slip-and-slide nature.

"It's good to try like one time, but I ain't going to get it no more," Cherrell said in her TikTok video trying the Vito Picklewich. "I just don't like the fact that my meat keeps sliding away from the bite."

Brands weigh in with support

It wouldn't be a social media trend if other brands didn't weigh in with their thoughts.

On the Jimmy John's Instagram post announcing the Picklewich, several brands posted in support.

"Speechless," wrote Cheez-It.

"It's missing something," Hellmann’s Mayonnaise commented with double eye emoji.

"We know the perfect drink to go with that," cocktail mix brand Zing Zang wrote.
