Dietician's healthy high protein cheesecake toast recipe with surprising ingredient
A dietician revealed her ultimate high protein snack, which she refused to “gatekeep”. Abbey Sharp, a registered dietitian and content creator from Canada, couldn’t help but rave about her newest “hyper fixation”.
In a recent TikTok video, Abbey explained that her newest go-to snack is cheesecake protein toast. Abbey said: “I have a new high protein snack hyper fixation and I cannot gatekeep this anymore. Cheesecake protein toast and it is so easy.”
To complete the recipe you’ll only need a handful of ingredients, but the secret weapon is the addition of cottage cheese instead of cream cheese. Cottage cheese contains casein protein, which is considered a ‘complete protein’.

That means it has all the amino acids your body needs, according to WebMd. A serving of full-fat cottage cheese provides more protein – about 25 per cent more – than a similar serving of full-fat Greek yogurt.
One cup of cottage cheese (225 grams) boasts around 25 grams of protein, 2.7 total grams of fat and 185 calories, making it a healthier choice than the classic cheesecake component. Abbey whipped up the treat in no time, saying before tucking in: “Protein, fibre and healthy fats, and it tastes so, so good.”
The dietician’s video has already been viewed over 34,600 times, receiving 2,281 likes and 25 comments. MammaGoddess replied: “I do this all the time but with ricotta cheese! Delish!”

High Protein Cheesecake Toast
Ingredients
1 tub of cottage cheese
1 tbsp jam
2 toast slices
Handful of berries
Flaked almond
Method
Blitz the cottage cheese in a blender until it has a thick and creamy consistency, before pouring into a bowl. Add in your choice of your favourite jam or preserves, giving it a good swirl.
Spoon onto a slice of your favourite toast, before topping with your choice of berries and flaked almonds. Tuck in and enjoy!
