It's the endorsement that both Democrats and Republicans have been courting, and finally it looks as though Taylor Swift may have endorsed vice-president Kamala Harris.

Taking to Instagram yesterday to share a post thanking fans in Poland who attended the Warsaw leg of her Eras tour, the star posted an image of herself on-stage with a silhouette just behind her that bears an uncanny resemblance to Harris.

Swift's legions of fans, affectionately referred to as Swifties, flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, in their droves to exclaim their jubilation at the subtle endorsement – and what it might mean for a potential solid endorsement from the star later down the line.

'Taylor Swift just low key endorsed Kamala Harris and MAGA is losing their minds,' one Swiftie wrote, while another noted, 'It really feels like it should be a bigger deal that Taylor Swift left a shadow of Kamala on her Instagram post but I don’t really see anyone talking about it. #YesWeKam.'

'TAYLOR!!! Tell me more about this pic on IG from Warsaw?!?!' another fan tweeted. 'We all know TS is amazing with her breadcrumbs… hope the deliberate posting of this pic hints at what #SwiftiesForHarris are hoping for!'

As part of V Magazine's Thought Leaders Issue in 2020, Swift opened up about why she was voting for Biden and Harris, saying that 'under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.'

The star has also been a vocal critic of Donald Trump's policies. She told The Guardian in 2019, 'I just wanna do everything I can for 2020. I wanna figure out exactly how I can help, what are the most effective ways to help.' In 2020, she's commented on Trump's debacle with the USPS, urged Tennessee to remove racist statues, and called out the president for 'stoking the fires of white supremacy.'
