Did Daisy Edgar-Jones' 'Nude Glow' Manicure Just Replace Hailey Bieber's 'Glazed Donut' For Good?
Daisy Edgar-Jones has been pushing her style nous out of the usual red-carpet comfort zone with an enviable, ever-changing Twisters press tour wardrobe, which has seen her work everything from a caped Vivienne Westwood gown to a highly covetable, plush chocolate co-ord.
But when it came to choosing her nail art for the premieres taking place in London's West End, there was only one manicure that would suffice to accompany a full spectrum of off-duty and high-octane dressing.
'Daisy wanted a colour that complemented all of the different outfits she would be wearing for the rest of the London press tour,' her nail tech and celebrity manicurist, Lucy Tucker, tells ELLE UK. 'Daisy chose a sheer nude that was not too pink with a coat of shimmer on the top which I created using EVO by biosculpture in 'Icy Elsa' and 'Anthea'.'

Tucker refers to the soft, milky manicure as 'nude glow', a trend which she coined to describe the soft shimmer it exudes and the subtle aesthetic.
Perhaps it's fatigue from a seemingly never-ending reign of glazed donut nails, but glow-enhancing nail trends have been slowly creeping onto our feeds more and more recently. As for the colour palette, it's a modern upgrade to you classic nude - think chantilly cream, off whites and your-nails-but-better shine as opposed to the frosted pink and meringue tones synonymous with glazed nails. Meanwhile, the finish is softer, more shimmery and little more subtle than its previous counterparts.
Unlike Bieber's viral glazed manicure, which is created using chrome for a mirror-like shine, this manicure centres around nail health and serious glow - much like our current skincare trends do. Variations of the trend are in the spotlight on social platforms where a less is more approach is reigning supreme among a sea of bold 3D nail art and chrome accents. Meanwhile, nail brand Manicurist has created an entire line-up of nail formulas that centre around creating a rosy glow and high shine finish – the idea is skincare for your nails.
Nude glow takes a similar direction; it isn't just a wear-with-everything manicure that works for a rotation of never-ending fashion, it's one that's the epitome of nail health.
As for the finishing touch to Daisy's mani-pedi? 'I used a super high gloss shine top coat. Oh, and I did some reflexology on Daisy's feet too,' says Tucker. A glow-enhancing manicure with a side of wellbeing - perhaps soon our nails are going to be wellness-ified too.
