Denise Welch has vehemently dismissed rumours of an ongoing feud with her Loose Women co-star Stacey Solomon, following a heated on-air debate on remote working.

As live viewers witnessed the clash of opinions, online chatter quickly speculated that Denise and Stacey wouldn't appear together on the show again soon, fuelled by reports that Stacey had "refused" to work with Denise.

A month on from the incident, Denise, 66, debunked these reports in an interview on an American podcast, stating: "We had a discussion on a discussion show, where you're supposed to discuss things and maybe disagree."

She further explained: "We disagreed on something, it was about young people and work ethic and since Covid, have Gen-Z become a bit more lazy and entitled, it was one of those kind of Loose Women things."

She added: "Stacey said something about nurses and the NHS which provoked a great big reaction, and I actually agreed with her."

Following false reports claiming that Sort Your Life Out star, Stacey, had refused to work with her again, Denise took to social media to quash this "complete lie. She clarified on Scheananigans podcast: "We're encouraged to disagree about things, it's a talk show!"

During the debate, mother-of-five Stacey, 35, argued that remote jobs with flexible hours are a boon for working families, especially those with children. In contrast, Denise expressed her frustration over staff shortages and warned that Britain is "grinding to a halt".

She dramatically said, as reported by the Express: "We haven't got the staff, where are the staff? They've disappeared!"

Stacey quickly chimed in with a reality check, noting: "They don't disappear because they're working from home," causing Denise to snap back: "But, where are they Stace?"

Stacey argued that many people actually prefer the comfort of their homes for work, especially considering professions like nursing being undervalued.

Stacey believes, backed up by the pandemic's impact, that people can work just as effectively, if not better, from their own personal spaces, contradicting conventional office-work norms. This didn't seem to gel too well with Denise, however.

As soon as their heated conversation hit the air, hordes of viewers took to platform X to share their own spicy opinions.

One commented: "I doubt we'll see Stacey on with Denise for a while... Stacey has the stones to defend her thunder." Another said: "Stacey absolutely wiping the floor with Denise [clapping hand emojis]."

A third chipped in: "What a shame Stacey is stepping back from TV, she's the only redeeming feature of #LooseWomen."
