Death in Paradise star Ralf Little has landed his first TV role since his departure from the show.

The star was confirmed to be departing as DI Neville Parker from the BBC series earlier this year, with Don Gilet set to replace him as new lead DI Mervin Wilson.

Little has now teamed up with friend and Two Pints of Later and a Packet of Crisps co-star Will Mellor for new U&Dave show Will & Ralf Should Know Better.

In the series, the pair will navigate life in their forties, as they undertake new challenges in each episode, including living off grid and embracing spirituality.

“I am thrilled to be working with Will again as it’s always so much fun," Ralf said (via The Sun). “This time we get to explore how we should be living in the modern world while educating ourselves, and having a laugh at the same time.”

Will added: “I’ve wanted to do a series like this for years. Going on a journey with Ralf to open our minds and push our limits… what could possibly go wrong?

“We’re both in our forties and probably a bit set in our ways, so now is the perfect time to see how we could be doing life better. Hopefully, we’ll come out of it better equipped for the modern world and, ideally, still in one piece.”

Following his Death in Paradise exit, Little congratulated his "wonderful" successor Gilet, saying: "I just wanna say, from me to you, Don, I hope you have the most wonderful time.

"It's the most magical experience, and I just hope you just get everything out of it, and I wish you the best of luck. I'm absolutely sure you're gonna be magnificent."

Meanwhile, following his departure Little revealed that it would be his dream role to play a villain, admitting he wanted to "do more things that scare me or that I maybe feel a bit intimidated by".

"I'd love to play a villain," he told The Big Issue. "It would be so nice to just play someone horrible – I've spent my whole career playing nice guys. I want to surprise myself."

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
