Davina McCall health update issued by boyfriend after star's brain tumour surgery
Davina McCall's partner Michael Douglas has given a health update after it was revealed that the former Big Brother presenter had been taken to hospital for brain surgery following the discovery of a 14mm benign tumour. Having undergone an operation to remove the tumour last week, Davina’s boyfriend Michael has since given fans an update - revealing that there has been some "mega progress" for the star.
“Update- Mega progress these last 24 hours. Massive relief to see some light breaking through. Thanks for all the good vibes coming in from all angles. Up and Up,” an Instagram post uploaded to her account read. Hairdresser Michael also went on to thank fans for their support and explained that Davina, 57, was now out of the ICU as she continued with her recovery.
“Update folks. Thanks so much to all the well wishers. She really has made an enormous leap forward in the last 24 hours. She is out of ICU. She is “loving awareness”. Thank you xx - Michael,” the caption added.

In response to the update, fans of the TV personality, as well as some famous faces, showed their support for the star as they flocked to the comments section to send her their love. "Sending all the love to you both," wrote Blue's Duncan James. "What we like to hear x," added Ashley Roberts.
"Awesome news Michael," commented Dame Kelly Holmes. Meanwhile, former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold wrote: "Sending you both lots of love."
The latest update comes after fans of Davina were left shocked when a pre-recorded video was posted to her account on Friday, 15 November in which she revealed that doctors had discovered that she had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst. As a result of the discovery, which was made a few months ago, she explained that she’d be undergoing an operation to remove it.
“A few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was gonna ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst which is very rare. Three in a million. So I slightly put my head in the sand,” she admitted.
"I saw quite a few neurosurgeons, I got lots of opinions and I realised that I have to get it taken out. It's big for the space. It fills the space. It's 14mm wide and it needs to come out, because if it grows, it would be bad. So I'm having it removed via a craniotomy."
Pointing to her head, Davina added: "They go through the top of my head here and through the two halves of my brain to the middle, and get the cyst, take it out, empty it, take it out and Bob's your uncle," before asking for people's prayers.
Following the surgery, Michael, who has been posting from Davina’s account as she goes “off grid” during her recovery, explained that she was “utterly exhausted” but it had been a “textbook” operation for the surgeon.
“Hey all. Davina is out of surgery and according to the surgeon it was textbook! She's currently recovering in ICU as a precaution, as you can imagine she's utterly exhausted. Thanks so much for all the love from everyone on here.. it's powerful stuff, we are super grateful. Michael xx,” the update read.
