For many, Daniel Craig is the quintessential James Bond: handsome, charming and incredibly well-dressed. Still - that doesn't mean he's sworn to the MI6 style handbook, and his latest look was a welcome change of pace to the usual 007 wardrobe.

Yes, we're aware it was still a tailored suit (and tailored to perfection, may we add). But at the Opportunity Network's 11th Annual Night of Opportunity in New York, the 50-year-old eschewed the white-shirt-and-two-piece flex in favour of a look less homogenised.

By switching one simple colour shirt-wise - in this case, white for a sage green - Craig proves that your tailoring backdrop needn't stay muted, even on the red carpet.

That doesn't grant you carte blanche to pair fire engine Gucci reds with a petrol blue two-piece. Instead, keep your colours dark. Your shirt should chime with the overall palette, and Craig manages this by sticking to a colour that complements fail-safe navy. Think green for blue, red for brown and so on.

Like Craig, finish with all the usual suspects (tie, pocket square, Oxford shoes) and of course aim for a razor-sharp fit. It's a small but significant way to change up your tailoring game, and one that'd make 007 very proud indeed. For England, Daniel.
