Dame Judi Dench joined members of the Royal Family and other invited guests for a special performance at Windsor Castle.

The King and Queen hosted the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) which performed a selection of excerpts from various plays to mark a special occasion.

"The reception marks the 400th anniversary of the publication of the First Folio – or collection of Shakespeare’s plays – a copy of which remains in the Royal Library at Windsor," the Royal Family announced on the official social media account for the family, alongside a collection of clips from the evening.

Top actors from the RSC took to the stage in front of a seated audience featuring King Charles and Queen Camilla in the front row.

Other invited guests included veteran actor Dame Judi Dench, who looked chic in an all-black look which she accessorised with an embroidered scarf. Helena Bonham Carter was also in attendance wearing a black and sheer look, decorated with floral details.

In photos, she can be seen speaking with the Duchess of Gloucester before meeting The King, while other photos show Dame Judi chatting with His Majesty.

Dame Judi Dench has a long history with the Royal Family, and recently gave a special talk in conversation with Giles Brandreth at The Queen's Reading Room Literary Festival at Hampton Court Palace. Queen Camilla made a surprise appearance in the audience during the event.
