Dame Joanna Lumley has been spotted arriving at the Coronation of King Charles and The Queen Consort, offering a first glimpse of her chic ensemble.

Dame Joanna was snapped in the crowds in a black below the knee dress with rounded collar lapels and a co-ordinating round hat, featuring a classic black band.

The star is one of a number of celebrity guests to receive a special invitation to the historic Coronation, which takes place at Westminster Abbey today (Saturday 6 May). The event itself is scheduled for 11am, although guests began arriving at the Abbey from the early hours of the morning.

Also in attendance are Dame Judi Dench, Emma Thompson and Lionel Ritchie as well as dignitaries and Royal Family members.

Members of the Royal Family are yet to arrive at the ceremony, and are expected closer to the start time. The King and Queen Consort were seen arriving at Buckingham Palace in the State Bentley this morning.

The pair will then travel to Westminster Abbey in the new Jubilee State Coach, which will be pulled by six Windsor Grey horses. After the ceremony, they will return to Buckingham Palace in the famous Gold State Coach.

Crowds have gathered across London to witness the iconic day, and all week the Royal Family have been out and about around the nation meeting local communities and businesses ahead of the important occasion.

The Prince and Princess of Wales joined The King at the Mall yesterday to meet some of the crowds.
