The crochet technique you need to finish every project
Crochet is such a popular yarn craft, and there are so many beautiful projects you can make once you've mastered the basic techniques of how to crochet. Once you start crocheting, you can create so much homeware, clothing and gifts for friends and family.
With crochet, you can make beautiful pieces for your home and wardrobe, including book sleeves, granny square tote bags and lovely blankets and throws.
Many crafters use blocking to make their crochet projects super-neat. This really simple technique uses moisture to set the final shape of your project. It's a great trick to learn to make all your projects look super professional – you'll really notice the difference between before and after blocking your crochet.
It just takes a little more planning, as you'll need to allow time for it to set and dry overnight – worth considering if you'd like to start wearing your crochet projects straight away!

How to block crochet
Blocking crochet is a technique used to neaten the shape of your projects. There are a number of ways to block your crochet, to get the most professional results for your project.
One most popular ways to block your crochet is using a blocking board. This is a wooden block with four spikes which you slot your crochet granny square onto.
Many crocheters also add a spritz of water at this stage to help set the shape of their squares.
But not every crocheters uses a blocking board. Crochet shop @realmdesigns on Instagram shared a video of their blocking technique on Instagram, which involved washing the crochet garments. She then pinned each piece to a foam board until it had moulded to the desired shape.
