This crochet project is perfect for intermediate crafters, who know the basic techniques of how to crochet and would like to use their skills to create beautiful pieces for their home and wardrobe. It uses popcorn stitch, which is very similar to puff stitch – we talk through how to do it in the special abbreviations section below.
We've stitched ours in colourful yellow, orange and purple yarn – you can use any colour scheme you like, just make sure to always go for DK weight yarn to keep the same tension.

What you need
DK acrylic yarn in shades:
(A) Mulberry x 1 100g ball
(B) Mustard x 1 100g ball
(C) Orange x 1 100g ball
5 stitch markers
Optional thick felt for base
Tension
22 sts and 21 rows to 10cm square over double crochet using a 3.25mm hook.
Tension is not essential for this pattern, however may result in in a slightly smaller or larger bag and more yarn may be needed.

Ch chain; dc double crochet; dcflo double crochet in front loop; tr treble crochet; rep repeat; RS right side; Rnd(s) round(s); sl st slip stitch; st(s) stitch(es); tr treble crochet; WS wrong side; yrh yarn round hook; * repeat the instructions following the single asterisk as directed; [] repeat instructions within the brackets as directed.

Popcorn stitch - [yrh, insert hook in next st, yrh, pull through, yrh, pull through 2 loops] 4 times, yah, pull through all loops.

Making up
Weave in ends and block to given measurements.
Optionally, using a thick felt fabric, cut a circle to fit the base and stitch in place using sewing thread to the inside of the base.
