Couple spends thousands copying Instagram-famous photos
A major battle of Instagrams is taking place as travel photographers Jack Morris and Lauren Bullen found out.
The couple have amassed over two million followers between them and travel the world, taking inspiring shots to share with their fans.
Plenty of people take inspiration from others but one in particular stood out. Lauren, who posts under gypsea_lust, noticed one Instagram account taking copying to the extreme, travelling to the same locations as her, wearing the same clothes and posing in the exact same way.
She posted screenshots of the extremely similar images on her blog under a post titled ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.’
“We work extremely hard to create the work we do. Stealing someone’s art – that’s never okay,” she wrote.
The copycat account has since been made private but enough screenshots were taken to last a lifetime.
Lauren has since updated her post, saying: “This story has blown up across the world, and this was never something I was expecting or even crossed my mind. I have been back in contact with Diana and we have addressed this entire situation together.”
“She is of no threat to me or anyone else and she has agreed that it was over the line. We are all human beings – we all make mistakes.”
