Rudding Park in Harrogate has been crowned Hotel of the Year at at the annual VisitEngland Awards for Excellence which celebrates the best of English tourism. The hotel, which is set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, beat off competition from Lucknam Park in Chippenham and Seaham Hall in County Durham.

Its secluded, idyllic settling coupled with its top level facilities have made it a popular choice among staycationers and those flying it from abroad. It offers award-winning restaurants, an outdoor dining space, a kitchen garden, a cinema room, a golf course, indoor and outdoor pools and an acclaimed spa, which has both indoor and rooftop facilities. There's even the opportunity to gaze at the stars while lounging in the jacuzzi.
