COS just dropped its second Atelier collection and it's redefining the staple wardrobe
This will come as no surprise to you, but COS is on a go-to for timeless capsule wardrobe pieces here at Red. The Scandi store's USP has always been about simplicity, ever since it launched in the UK back in 2007.
So we were thrilled when the brand introduced COS Atelier back in October; an elevated version of its signature collection packed with quality staples. It was a success, naturally, and now it's back for Spring/Summer 2023. The second drop landed this week.
We think it's even better than the first. Each piece has a genius versatility, the capacity to perform as both eveningwear and workwear, not to mention slot into your smart/casual rotation.
Don't believe us? Take a quick glance at the impossibly chic campaign imagery. There's smart tailoring, and co-ords designed to be mixed and matched – we're talking silk separates, blazers, waistcoats, culottes, pleated pants and pencil skirts that combine to make so many different outfits. And outside of the suits comes some beautiful trousers, cut to perfection with deep turn-ups, expertly-placed pleats and cleverly cut wide legs.
The dresses are classic but directional: crisp cotton shirt styles and neutral slips that layer easily. Even the formalwear has a unique spin. The hero pieces of the collection are two floor-sweeping gowns, complete with trains, that feel miraculously low-key cool thanks to their linen fabrication (in silk or chiffon, they'd feel just a little OTT at a holiday dinner).

We know, all the talk of a capsule wardrobes feels a little confusing when you're being encouraged to buy, buy, buy.
