Corrie's sinister Nathan Curtis star Christopher Harper married for 11 years to familiar TV star

Christopher Harper made his return to Coronation Street as villainous Nathan Curtis in April, leaving the residents of Weatherfield horrified. Nathan had been serving time in prison after being locked up for grooming Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) back in 2017.

After his taunting of Bethany and her family, Sarah was so sick of Nathan, she decided to plant Lauren's hair bobble in his van. She was stopped by detective Kit, who later planted the evidence in Nathan's van – resulting in Nathan's arrest, with viewers awaiting his fate.

Actor Christopher, 46, was understandably thrilled to be asked to return to Coronation Street, and previously said he was "emotional" when informed about Nathan's return.

“I was emotional when I was told about Nathan's potential return. During the 18 months he was in it before, hundreds of people shared with me how the storyline reflected something they, or someone they loved, had lived through. It remains important to keep them in mind as we continue Bethany's story," he told ITV.

He also said: “It really is good to be back on the hallowed cobbles. So much has happened since we saw Nathan sent to prison, but Coronation Street is a constant. I feel like the cast, crew and the whole team are old friends.”

Despite his character's villainous ways, Christopher enjoys playing him in Corrie. He added: “I do love playing Nathan though. He is funny, deceitful, slippery, manipulative and ruthless. Now he is also under a lot of pressure too. This new storyline is absolutely full of twists.”

Away from the cobbles, Nathan is happily married to actress Emily Bowker - who many will recognise from her various TV roles. Emily is a star in her own right, with her acting credits including Neighbours and Holby City.

She starred in The Bill as Mandy Cooke and also appeared in Call the Midwife in 2017 as a character named Dot Spenlow. Emily appeared in Torchwood, as well as Upstairs Downstairs alongside her famous husband. Emily even appeared in various plays for BBC Radio 4 and independent film City Rats. She's no stranger to theatre either, having starred in numerous plays across the UK.
